Winners received a medal as well as a cash prize (presented by Paul Viau), both of which were sponsored by the Legion. The following students were the contest winners at the provincial level: First place in the Essay category went to Jason Janacek; second place was awarded to Jade Chamberlain. Second place in the Poem category went to Maude.

The 2019 Royal Canadian Legion Pilgrimage of Remembrance will take place from 6 to 20 July 2019. During this 15-day experience, pilgrims will tour battlefields, pay their respects in cemeteries, reflect at memorials and explore museums throughout France and Belgium with a short foray into the Netherlands (to be confirmed).

Royal Canadian Legion contest winners. Victoria Fisher hails from Minnedosa, Manitoba, and is a student at Minnedosa College. She won the 2015 Royal Canadian Legion youth essay contest (Senior category), with her first-person narrative fiction piece “Boys in the Sand.”.
Several county students will be moving on to the Royal Canadian Legion's district literary and poster contest, after claiming first place in the zone contest. Entrants first compete at their local Legion in various categories, with winners moving on to the zone, district, area and national contests.

With Remembrance Day come and gone, one way the Royal Canadian Legion keeps remembrance alive year round is through its Remembrance Poster and Literary Contest. A transplanted Prince Edward Islander representing Miramichi, N.B., Branch won his second singles crown while the Manitoba-Northwestern Ontario squad from Norwood-St. Boniface in Winnipeg swept the team titles at The Royal Canadian Legion’s 2019 Dominion Eight-Ball Championships held May 25-26.
